MAPLE NO-BAKE COOKIES
1/2 C Peanut Butter 1/4 C Confectioner's Sugar 1/4 C Chopped Walnuts, optional 1/4 C plus 2 T Haulk's Maple Syrup 1/2 C Quick Oats 1/4 Dry Milk Mix all ingredients, form into ball and ENJOY |
CRACKLETOP MAPLE COOKIES
1 C Shortening 1 C Haulk's Maple Syrup 2 t Baking Soda 1 t Vanilla 1 Egg 4 C Flour Cream shortening, egg,then add Haulk's Maple Syrup and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Chill. Shape into balls and roll in sugar. Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes. |
SUGAR ON SNOW
1 Quart Haulk's Maple Syrup 1/2 t Butter Packed Snow or Well Crushed Ice Use candy thermometer, heat syrup and butter rim of pan (as to stop boiling over) to 234 degrees; cool slightly. Pour immediately over snow or ice. Wind with fork or indulge with fingers to eat. |
MAPLE BRITTLE
2 C Haulk's Maple Syrup 2 T Butter (don't use margarine) 1/2 t Cream of Tartar Pinch of Salt Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and boil to 230 degrees, or until syrup forms a very hard thread in cold water. DO NOT STIR THE SYRUP or crystals will form. Pour over peanuts or whatever kind of nuts you like which have been spread out lightly on cookie sheet. When cool, break into pieces. |
MAPLE DONUT MUFFINS
1 Egg, slightly beaten 1 1/2 C Flour 1/3 C Oil 2 T Baking Powder 1/2 C Milk 1/2 C Haulk's Maple Syrup 1 t Cinnamon 1 t Vanilla Beat egg with fork, mix in oil, milk, vanilla and maple syrup with a fork. Add dry ingredients again using a fork. Spoon mixture into greased muffin tins. Bake 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes |
CREAM CHEESE SPREAD
1/2 C Haulk's Maple Syrup (dark is better) 8 oz Cream Cheese. softened Heat maple syrup on candy thermometer 235 degrees or thickened. Let cool, stirring twice, then beat in cream cheese. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator. Keeps well. Great on toast, carrot cake, veggies, etc. |
MAPLE POPCORN
9 C Popped Popcorn, use air popper 1 C Haulk's Maple Syrup 1C White Sugar 1/2 t White Vinegar 2 T Butter 1 C Salted Peanuts or mixed nuts, optional Heat maple syrup, sugar and vinegar to boil in a heavy medium-size pan, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cook, WITHOUT STIRRING, to 240 degrees on candy thermometer. Add butter and stir until melted. Pour over popcorn and nuts. Toss gently. BAKE 1 hour at 200 degrees. Cool and break apart to form chunks. Store in plastic bags or air tight containers. Keeps well in freezer. |
BAKED HAM
To glaze ham while baking, use 1/2 cup Haulk's Maple Syrup on ham. Brush periodically during baking. |
MAPLE ROASTED VEGETABLES
3 Carrots, Turnip, Onions, Parsnips or any vegetable you like-- peeled and cut into 1 inch chunks 4 T Butter 1/2 C Haulk's Maple Syrup Arrange vegetables in a single layer in a shallow roasting pan. Heat butter and maple syrup until butter is melted. Pour maple syrup and butter over the vegetables and toss to thoroughly coat. Cover pan with foil and BAKE 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove foil, stir vegetables and bake until tender--20 to 25 minutes longer. |
BACON WRAPPED SCALLOPS
1 Pint Scallops 1/2 Pound Bacon, cut into 4 inch strips About 1/4 C Haulk's Maple Syrup 24 Toothpicks soaked in water for 5 minutes Partially cook bacon in a little maple syrup. Wrap scallops with bacon strips and secure with toothpicks. Brush with more maple syrup. Broil or bake, basting with maple syrup and turning until bacon is crisp on all sides. Takes about 10 to 14 minutes. Drain on paper towels. |
QUICK BAKED BEANS
1 Can (28 ounces) Baked Beans 1/2 C Haulk's Maple Syrup or more to taste 1/4 Dry Mustard 1 t Dried Minced Onion 3 or 4 Hot Dogs, cooled and sliced 1 Can (8 ounces) Pineapple Chunks, optional Mix all together in casserole dish or saucepan and warm slowly. |
DOG DAY LEMONADE
2 Quarts Water Juice of 2 Large Lemons Haulk's Maple Syrup to taste Mix together and chill. |
TASTY MAPLE HOT DOGS
1 pound hot dogs 1 T butter 1 T soy sauce (optional) 1/4 C Haulk's Maple Syrup Combine butter, soy sauce and Haulk's Maple Syrup in a fry pan. Cut hot dogs into bite size pieces and place in fry pan. Simmer until the sauce gets darker and slightly thicker. Yields about 60 appetizers. |
MAPLE DIP
8 Ounces of Cream Cheese (room temperature) 1 Cool Whip Container - 8 Ounces (thawed - room temperature) 1/3 Cup Haulk's Maple Sugar Beat (hand mixer) the Cream Cheese so that it is fluffy. Slowly add in Haulk's Maple Sugar. Mix in the cool whip. |
